| The mission of the Lynnwood Police Explorer Post 911 is to educate and involve high school age youth in
police operations, to interest them in the functions of law enforcement, and to expose department personnel to
the positive side of American youth with the goal of promoting community service and a positive image of the
police department to all youth in the community.
Post 911 was formed in March 1996 and currently has nine members ranging in age from 14 to 21. Officers
Reorda and Sgt. Brooks serve as the Post's primary advisors and act as a mentors and role models for the explorers.
Post 911 meets three times per month and provides training on a variety of
law enforcement related topics. In 2006 post members participated in
approximately 1,500 hours of law enforcement related training and
volunteer service during activities that include:
- Lynnwood Easter Egg Hunt
- Lynnwood July 4th Celebration
- Civic Lights Celebration
- Patrol Ride-Alongs
- Washington State Explorer Advisor
Summer and Winter Academies
- D.A.R.E. Graduations
- S.W.A.T. Training
