The mission of the Property/Evidence Section is to promptly and accurately enter, maintain and dispose of all evidence and property in order to preserve the integrity of the evidence for the officers and the court, and to serve the citizens by returning property or evidence immediately upon case disposition.

Authorized staffing for the Property/Evidence Section is two full-time evidence technicians.
- Processing of all property and evidence entered into the
system.
- Response to crime scenes, when requested, to take
custody of collected evidence.
- Maintenance and
disposal of property and
evidence in accordance with
RCW’s, state audit requirements,
departmental and accreditation
standards.
- Storage of city surplus property and records.
- Processing of seizure cases at the direction of the
Investigations Commander.
- Testing of marijuana.
