 Project Update

Roof Beams InstalledConstruction continues with the project on schedule and under budget!

Passersby have seen dramatic changes to the building in the past month with the beginnings of roof structures. In late June, seven wood beams weighing over 16,000 pounds each were delivered and hoisted into place to create the structure for the new leisure pool. Additionally, much of the the new translucent semi-retractable skylight roof system was installed over the existing lap pool. See full press release for more information.

Fun Facts

  • Each of the seven glue-laminated wood beams weighs more than 16,000 pounds and measures 104 feet long by 60 inches tall
  • Approximately 228 panels make up the surface of the new roof over the future expanded pool and measures more than 12,400 square feet

Project Safety

Stretch & BendWe take safety seriously. To achieve a safe worksite, Mortenson Construction Company holds a daily "bend and stretch" for all workers, a quarterly safety barbeque, and conducts "Worker to Worker" training with trade contractors. The "Worker to Worker" program includes a training video and job shadow of one trade with another, to provide a different perspective of safety on the jobsite, and also encourages workers in different trades to comment about potential unsafe practices with workers in other trades as they work together and observe others working on the jobsite.
