Project Update

M.A. Mortenson Company has been selected as the General Contractor/Construction Manager (GC/CM) for the project. At the Regular Business Meeting of December 14, 2009, City Council authorized the $17 million GC/CM contract. Mortenson will advertise and bid out twenty-five subcontracting packages starting December 22 through early February.

Mortenson will begin site preparation and install perimeter fencing in January. Demolition and construction will begin in February.

Breaking Ground

Lynnwood officials and project consultants broke ground in front of the Recreation Center December 9 to celebrate the kick-off of the construction project!

Last Splash at Recreation Center

Join us for one "Last Splash" at the Recreation Center December 19 from 3:30-5:00pm before we close for construction. We'll have FREE racquetball, wallyball, weight room access and open swim (limited to the first 160 people) - and refreshments, of course.

Holiday Hours for Weight Room and Customer Service

Customer Service staff will be available for in-person and phone registrations at the North Administration Building (19000 44th Avenue West) 8:00am-5:00pm December 21-23 and December 28-31. The weight room will also be open December 28-31.

Regular hours of operation will begin January 4.

Monday-Friday - 5:30am-9:30pm

Saturday - 9:00am-2:00pm

Sunday - Closed

Where Can I...?

While most programs are being relocated to the North Administration Building (NAB) and Senior Center, all aquatic and racquetball programs will discontinue when we officially close for construction at 5:00 pm on Saturday, December 19.
