The Lynnwood Recreation Center hosts 3 pools (lap pool, wading pool, and hydrotherapy hot tub), a dry sauna, racquetball & wallyball courts, and an exercise weight room for leisure and fitness activities.  Built in 1977, this multi-use facility is unique in that it is both an indoor and outdoor facility with a canvas rooftop that comes off each summer in June and goes back on in September.

Lap Pool

This six lane, 25-yard lap pool ranges in depth from 3 ½ to 12 feet.  This pool hosts many activities from lap swimming, swim team, water aerobics, swimming lessons, and recreational swimming.  Recreational swimming sessions offer a diving board, water slide, and rope swing play equipment.  Water temperature is generally kept between 84°- 86°.

Wading Pool

This shallow water pool has a long stairway entrance for easy entrance.  The depth deepens at each step to a maximum depth of 30 inches.  This pool is ideal for younger children who can explore the various tiled sea creatures on the floor.  Water temperature is generally 84°- 86°.

Hydrotherapy Pool

Our hot tub, which seats up to 12 people at a time, is ideal for rest and relaxation.  Water temperature is generally kept at 104° to provide a warm environment to ease joint and muscle pain.

Sauna

This electric sauna seats up to 16 people and is a great place to warm up and relax.

Individuals who live within the Lynnwood city limits are eligible for a resident discount.

3 month unlimited use passes are also available.

Swim Lessons

 

The Lynnwood Swim School provides group and individual swim and dive lessons for all ages and skill levels (from beginning through competition).  Classes are offered throughout the week – mornings, afternoons, evenings, & Saturdays.  Our aquatic staff have developed an excellent swim lesson program that emphasizes safety, fun & learning in a way that produces results.  We use a hands-on approach when it comes to addressing individual needs throughout our many levels.  New students are encouraged to book a swim placement appointment prior to registration to ensure that the best level is selected for all students.  Swim placements can be scheduled by calling (425) 670-5732.  Check out our next swim session registration dates.  Scholarship assistance is available for those who qualify for the Recreation Benefit Fund (applications are available at the front desk).

Fitness Programs

Our aquatics program is a leader in Snohomish County for offering water safety education.  Programs include:

Aquatic Volunteer Program

This water safety program is a great way for teens to learn what it takes to be a lifeguard or swim instructor.  Students who complete this class can become volunteers for the Lynnwood Aquatics Program and receive service hours for school and great on-the-job training.  Registration for this class is available online! More information     

Community Time

One of the many services provided by the Aquatics program is assistance with merit badge testing, float testing for boating classes, and camp swim tests.  Offered once a quarter, groups and/or individuals can reserve a spot by calling 425-670-5732.  This time can be tailored to suit any groups’ needs.

Lifeguard & CPR Training

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training is the most commonly accepted form of certification to be a lifeguard in Washington State.  This course is open to students over 15 years who can pass a basic swim test.  Registration for this class is available online!

Lifeguard Instructor Training

American Red Cross LGI training is the class to become an instructor for lifeguarding, CPR, AED training and more. 

Water Safety Instructor (WSI)

American Red Cross WSI training is a great class to teach you how to be a great swim instructor.  This course is open to students over 16 years who can pass a basic swim test.  Registration for this class is available online!
