Scope

The Hearing Examiner (Examiner) is a quasi-judicial official appointed by the City Council to provide impartial, professional public hearing services to the City.  "Quasi-judicial" refers to matters which state law or state courts have said must be handled in much the same way as court proceedings.  Quasi-judicial proceedings require protection of the due process rights of every involved participant.

Public Meetings/Hearings

Legal notices are issued (view current notices) before each Examiner public meeting or hearing.  Most  meetings are held in the City Council chambers at the Civic Center on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.  If you are uncertain as to where, when, or whether a particular matter will be considered by the Examiner, call (425) 670-8306.
