Kimberly Cole - Council Position 1
Council member Kimberly Cole grew up locally and is independent parent to her son Aidan. He attends Lynnwood Elementary, where Kimberly is a monthly classroom volunteer.
Kimberly is locally educated, starting from a GED and working up through Law School. Her education included Edmonds Community College; where she earned her minor in counseling, UOP Business School in Mountlake Terrace; earning a BA in Business and Seattle University School of Law, where she is a Juris Doctorate candidate and studying for the bar. In the process her goal of owning a home came true here in Lynnwood, where she transitioned from our renters market into ownership in 2007.
Council member Cole’s background is in healthcare and political policy work. She first served the community as a Washington State Registered Counselor, certified health educator and interventionist for court ordered substance users. Kimberly transitioned into public sector managed care for Medicaid lines of business, working with Snohomish County residents with mental healthcare and chemical dependency service needs. In 2006 she began entry-level work in local government, working for area legislators and was soon elected in 2007 to Commissioner in Public Hospital District 2, #3.
Kimberly joined the Lynnwood City Council in 2010. She currently serves on the Library Board, SnoCom, and Lynnwood’s alternate to Community Transit. Kimberly also sits on the board of Stevens Hospital, Chairing the 2010 Quality Committee.
Among the issues she advocates are public safety, workers rights and fiscal accountability. She is active in the faith community and a member of Christian Faith Center North.
